Jardin botanique de l'Université de Strasbourg, Educational botanical garden near city center in Strasbourg, France

The botanical garden spreads across 3.5 hectares and contains 6,000 plant species, including a tropical greenhouse with palms, cycads, bromeliads, and ferns.

Founded in 1619 as France's second botanical garden after Montpellier, the site relocated in 1884 under German administration to its current location on former fortifications.

The garden maintains scientific collections for university research while serving as an educational resource through workshops and exhibitions about natural sciences.

The garden opens from 2 PM to 6 PM in March and April, extending to 7 PM from May through August, with morning access reserved for school groups.

The Bary Greenhouse, dating from 1884, survived the 1963 demolitions and represents the last remaining structure from the original German-era construction.
