Château de la Barollière

Château de la Barollière is a medieval castle in Limonest featuring a rectangular main building with four square towers topped by pavilion roofs. An additional tower stands within the inner courtyard, contributing to the structure's distinctive profile.

The castle passed to the Maritz family in 1750, who undertook significant renovations in the decades that followed. Under their ownership, the interior spaces were embellished with elaborate decorative elements reflecting 18th-century taste.

The interior rooms feature ornate wall paintings and fine woodwork from the 18th century that reflect the taste of its residents at that time. These decorations give the castle its distinctive character from that era.

The wrought iron railings and balconies display the letter M, marking ownership by the Maritz family during their renovations. This detail reveals how proprietors identified their properties in the 18th century.
