Forêt de Roumare, State forest in Montigny, France

This 4000-hectare forest occupies a Seine River loop downstream from Rouen, consisting mainly of beech and oak trees with areas of Scots pine.

The Montigny Castle, located on the forest edge, hosted future King Edward VIII of England in July 1917 during the First World War.

A 26-hectare wildlife park allows visitors to observe wild boars, roe deer, red deer, and fallow deer in their natural environment.

Hikers can access the site from the parking lot facing Montigny church and follow a marked 9-kilometer trail through forest roads.

The forest contains twenty-five hectares of century-old trees and the Petit-Charme arboretum features species from around the world.
