Hommage au capitaine Dreyfus, Bronze sculpture in 6th arrondissement, France
The statue depicts Captain Alfred Dreyfus holding a broken sword in front of his face, measuring 3.5 meters in height and 1 meter in width.
Created by artist Tim in 1988, this monument commemorates the centennial of the Dreyfus Affair, which exposed systemic antisemitism in French institutions.
The sculpture bears the inscription 'If you want me to live, restore my honor,' taken from Dreyfus's letter to his wife during his imprisonment.
Located in Place Pierre-Lafue, the sculpture is accessible through public transportation and maintains regular visibility throughout day and night.
The statue underwent multiple location changes before settling in its current spot, including a rejected proposal to place it at the Military School.
