Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Orléans, Art museum in Orléans, France

The Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Orléans is an art museum holding over 2,000 paintings, 700 sculptures, and 50,000 prints spanning European art from the 15th century onward. The works are arranged across multiple gallery spaces that showcase the development of different artistic styles.

The institution was founded in 1797 during the French Revolution and first occupied the Episcopal Palace. It relocated to the Hôtel des Créneaux in 1823, where it has remained as a major art center.

The museum displays works by Italian, Flemish, and Dutch artists representing different artistic periods and traditions. These collections allow visitors to explore how European painting evolved across regions over centuries.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM, with extended hours until 8 PM on Thursdays. Sunday hours run from 1 PM to 6 PM, offering visitors flexibility in planning their visit.

The institution holds France's second-largest collection of pastel works, surpassed only by the Louvre in Paris. Most pieces date from the 17th and 18th centuries, revealing the mastery artists achieved with this delicate medium.
