Fort de Montfaucon

Fort de Montfaucon is a military fortification complex positioned on elevated ground above the Doubs Valley near Besancon. The installation contains multiple interconnected buildings and defensive positions arranged across the terrain.

A major explosion in 1906 caused significant damage to the complex and triggered rescue efforts from the nearby city. Traces of this incident remain visible in parts of the site.
