Pic des Mouches, Mountain summit in Sainte-Victoire, France

Pic des Mouches is a mountain peak in the Sainte-Victoire range that offers views across the surrounding valleys and ridges. The landscape around the summit includes exposed rock faces, pine forests, and open slopes at different elevations.

Pic des Mouches, at 1,011 m the highest point of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire near Aix-en-Provence, is climbed from Puyloubier to the south and from the Col de Portes above Vauvenargues to the north. The southern approach is a climber's route, the northern one a steady walk, and the GR9 long-distance footpath crosses the summit.

The summit marks the highest point of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire massif at 1,011 metres, and the GR9 long-distance footpath passes over it. Walkers on the ridge crest cross the pale limestone top where the route continues along the range.

The climb is reached via marked hiking trails starting from nearby car parks and small villages. The terrain is steep with sections of forest and rocky ground, so sturdy hiking boots and adequate physical fitness are needed.

This peak is a launch point for paragliding and hang gliding, making it a popular spot for these sports enthusiasts. The thermal air currents rising from this part of the ridge create ideal conditions for free flight.
