Pointe de Miribel, Mountain summit in Haute-Savoie, France.
Pointe de Miribel is a limestone peak in the Chablais Massif rising to 1581 meters (5187 feet) in Haute-Savoie. From the summit, you can see Mont Blanc, the Bornes, and the Jura mountain ranges stretching across the horizon.
The peak formed through geological processes that developed the Préalpes medianes nappe over millions of years. These movements shaped the Alpine landscape visible in this region today.
The mountain area maintains strong connections to Alpine traditions, with local residents practicing seasonal grazing and mountain sports throughout the year.
The summit is reached via a round trip of about 5 kilometers from Les Granges, following yellow-marked paths through forest and mountain terrain. The route is well-marked and suitable for those with basic hiking experience.
The western slope serves as a natural launch site for paragliders seeking to fly from this peak. In winter, the same terrain becomes a destination for snowshoe walking, offering a completely different mountain experience.
