Sur la Pointe

Sur la Pointe is a mountain summit in the Préalpes médianes range reaching about 1,660 meters (5,450 feet) above sea level. The peak offers views across surrounding Alpine landscapes.

The mountain was previously called Rocher de la Motte and Sacré Coeur, serving as a focal point for religious community gatherings over centuries. This spiritual connection shaped its place in local tradition.

A bronze Christ statue and cross at the summit mark this as a place of spiritual importance for both pilgrims and mountain visitors.

Various hiking trails lead to the summit from different locations in Bellevaux commune. Late spring through summer offers the best conditions for reaching the peak.

The landscape shifts from dense forests at lower elevations to exposed rock formations approaching the peak. This transition shows how the natural environment changes with altitude.
