Tour Neptune is a 113-metre office skyscraper in the La Défense business district of Courbevoie, designed by Jacques Binoux, Michel Folliasson and Henri Kandjian. Its facade alternates wide dark glass panels with narrow light-coloured vertical mullions over the full height; the upper fifth is clad entirely in solid light panels, and the roofline and corners are flat. It has 25 floors and about 50,000 square metres of floor space.
Tour Neptune opened in 1975 as one of the initial skyscrapers designed for La Défense, conceived by architect Jacques Binoux. This building played a part in establishing the district as a major business center.
Tour Neptune takes its name from the Roman god of the sea, fitting for a tower on the Seine bank. It was originally called Tour CB33. The 1970 film Le Chat, with Jean Gabin and Simone Signoret, was shot near the tower, and the building now houses Allianz, formerly AGF.
Tour Neptune stands in Courbevoie on the bank of the Seine, within the La Défense business district. It is linked to public transport by the Esplanade de la Défense metro station and the La Défense station. The building is an office tower, so the interior is not open to visitors.
Tour Neptune was renovated in 1990, so its present appearance dates from that campaign rather than from the 1975 opening. It was originally called Tour CB33, and it stands beside the Seine, where the 1970 film Le Chat was shot nearby.
