Construction began in 1873 under architect Louis-Pierre Chauvet and concluded in 1880 under Alfred Coulomb's direction.
The tympanum displays a bas-relief sculpture by Jules-Constant Destreez depicting Saint George defeating the dragon.
Located at 112-114 Avenue Simon Bolivar, the church contains stained glass windows that allow limited natural light into the interior space.
The choir organ, created by Charles Mutin in 1907, was transferred and restored before its installation in 1995.
