Construction began in 1674 following a municipal council decision to replace the previous chapel that had become too small for the population.
The main nave contains gilded wooden statues of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, while frescoes depict the Transfiguration scene.
The church remains open to visitors Monday through Saturday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
The François Mader organ, installed in 1892, represents a fundamental element of the religious building's musical heritage.
