Église Sainte-Marie de Calvi

The Église Sainte-Marie de Calvi is a parish church with a distinctive salmon-colored facade topped by a central dome and a white bell tower. The interior contains multiple chapels and religious artworks arranged throughout the main prayer space.

This church was built in 1774 on the site of an earlier paleochristian place of worship from the 4th century. The building received official protection as a classified historical monument in 1988.

The church is dedicated to Saint Mary and houses four side chapels honoring different saints important to local devotion. These spaces show how believers in Calvi have expressed their faith through the arrangement and decoration of separate prayer areas within the main building.
