Pic de la Moulinière

Pic de la Moulinière is a mountain summit in the Alps located between the Maurienne and Guisane valleys. From its peak, you can see across multiple Alpine ridges, making it a destination for serious climbers.

The mountain was traditionally climbed more often in winter before summer routes were explored later. A major mountaineering event in 2016 helped document the summer approaches.

The mountain paths here are home to Alpine ibexes, which you can often spot resting on the rocky ridges. These wild animals share the terrain with climbers who make their way up.

The route from Plan Lachat requires ice axes and crampons because snow persists in the Southeast corridor. Even in summer months, you should expect challenging conditions there.

The route crosses two technically difficult corridors where loose scree can be slippery and unstable. Such sections demand special attention and experience when passing through.
