Château de Lucéram, Medieval castle in Lucéram, France
The castle stands on a promontory overlooking the village, positioned next to the church and cemetery, 800 meters southwest of Lucéram center.
Historical records indicate the castle territory dates back to 1057, when Lucéram was first documented as a fortified settlement in the region.
A section of the castle has been converted into the Notre-Dame de Pitié chapel, while the remaining structure maintains its medieval architectural elements.
Visitors access the castle through interconnecting alleys and staircases, passing restored Gothic houses built with local grey stone materials.
The castle became the center of a Knights Hospitaller commandery in 1742, establishing a connection with medieval military orders.
