Galeries de Jaude, Commercial building at Place de Jaude, Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Galeries de Jaude is a commercial building with a steel structure clad in white stone and punctuated by large arched windows across two levels. It houses a department store today and forms a central landmark at Place de Jaude with extensive retail space.

The building was constructed between 1906 and 1907 following designs by architects Léon and Marcel Lamaizière and initially operated as a branch of a major French department store. It represented part of the modernization of the city center during the Belle Époque period.

The building blends Beaux-Arts style with decorative elements reflecting influences from multiple centuries, giving the facade an unconventional appearance. Visitors notice the generous windows and ornamental details that flood the interior with natural light and create an inviting shopping space.

The building sits directly on Place de Jaude in the city center and is easily reached on foot. Visitors should come during normal business hours to explore the interior and see the architecture up close.

The original window frames from the early 20th century remain intact and distinctly shape the building's exterior appearance. This preservation condition led to its listing as a protected monument in 2006.
