Église de la Nativité de la Sainte-Vierge de Jouy-le-Moutier, Romanesque church in Jouy-le-Moutier, France.

The Église de la Nativité de la Sainte-Vierge is a Romanesque church in Jouy-le-Moutier with architectural elements spanning multiple centuries from around 1000 onwards. A distinctive two-level bell tower topped with an octagonal spire rises above the crossing and dominates the building's exterior.

The church developed over many centuries with its earliest parts dating back to around 1000 and later additions through the 1500s. In 1912 it was officially classified as a historical monument, securing its protection for future generations.

The church is dedicated to the nativity of Mary and has served the local community as a spiritual center for centuries. Visitors can see religious artworks inside that show how people have expressed their faith through different periods.

The church is located at Place de l'Église in the town center and is easy to reach on foot. As an active place of worship, visiting hours may vary depending on services, so it is best to check before planning your visit.

Underground excavations in the 1990s uncovered the foundations of an older Romanesque structure and a funeral stele beneath the current building. This discovery reveals the site was a religious center long before the present church was constructed.
