L'Effort

L'Effort is a lead sculpture with sandstone elements located in Paris. The work depicts a human figure and measures approximately 175 centimeters high and 280 centimeters wide.

Pierre Roche created this sculpture in 1898 and it was later inaugurated on January 17, 1907. The work was added as part of the garden's artistic collection.

The sculpture references the twelve labors of Hercules and conveys physical exertion through classical mythology within French art. Visitors experience this ancient story through the work's materials and form as they walk through the garden.
