La Maison dans la Loire is a concrete house structure positioned in the Loire River, featuring sealed shutters and tilted foundations that extend into the water. The artwork sits fixed in place and can be viewed from a designated observation area along the riverside.

The artwork was created in 2007 as part of a contemporary art event and drew inspiration from an actual house in a nearby village. It was moved to its current location in 2012 to protect it from river currents and ensure its long-term preservation.

The installation's name evokes a domestic space, showing how artists can reimagine everyday structures in unexpected ways. People visiting here see how something familiar becomes connected to nature through artistic vision.

The best way to view the artwork is from the pedestrian area along Quai Émile-Paraf, where safety boundaries are clearly marked. Water levels fluctuate with seasons and rainfall, which naturally affects how the installation appears from different angles.

The concrete structure was modeled after a real house that once existed in the same area before it was lost to urban development. In this way, the artwork preserves a vanished memory of the local landscape through artistic creation.
