Mont Corbier, Mountain summit in Savoie, France
Mont Corbier is a mountain summit in the Maurienne valley of Savoie, rising to 2180 meters (7150 feet) above sea level. The slopes form part of a large interconnected ski network in the Les Sybelles area, allowing skiers to traverse multiple connected runs.
Development of the summit began in 1938 but was interrupted during World War II and resumed during the 1960s. The ski resort officially opened in December 1967 and became a major winter sports destination in the region.
The summit serves as a central hub within the Les Sybelles ski area and draws visitors from across the region during winter months. The slopes radiating from the peak connect different valleys and accommodate skiers of all abilities.
The mountain is accessible year-round, with the best skiing from December to April and summer activities like hiking and mountain biking available from July to August. Visitors should prepare for changing weather conditions and bring appropriate gear for mountain terrain.
From the summit, you can see the distinctive Aiguilles d'Arves peaks and their glaciers in the distance, making it a favored viewpoint for many visitors. The ski slopes at the base maintain a car-free design, creating a quieter experience for those enjoying winter sports.
