The Pic du Cap Roux is a summit near Saint-Raphaël, in southern France, rising to around 1,480 feet (450 meters) above sea level. The ground is red and rocky, typical of this volcanic massif, dotted with low shrubs and small plants growing between the stones.
The area around the Pic du Cap Roux was once used by shepherds and local hunters before it became known to hikers. Over time, some of the old paths were improved and marked for general use.
