Pointe de Pastourlet is a mountain peak in the Cozie Alps that stands at 2,565 meters above sea level. The summit offers wide views across the valleys and ridges that shape the Queyras landscape.
The mountain served as traditional summer grazing land for shepherds from the Queyras region for many generations. Herds moved to these higher elevations seasonally to feed on the alpine meadows.
Local mountaineers gather annually on the trails of Pointe de Pastourlet to mark the beginning of the ski touring season with communal activities.
The climb begins from Sainte-Catherine parking area at 1,855 meters, with a vertical gain of about 720 meters to the summit. The route follows marked mountain paths that are well established and easy to follow.
Temperature variations of up to 11 degrees within a single day create distinct snow conditions between morning and afternoon periods at the summit.
