Église Notre-Dame-des-Anges de Lyon

Notre-Dame-des-Anges is a Gothic Revival church in Lyon's 7th district that features three naves, a choir, and an ambulatory with a rounded apse. The building was constructed using salvaged materials and stands out for its characteristic bell tower.

Construction of the church began in 1880 under Abbot Haour's leadership. A decade later the bell tower was completed, built from stones salvaged from a former bridge structure.

The stained glass windows display biblical narratives and were crafted in the late 1800s by local artisans. You can observe how the colored light from these works illuminates the interior as you walk through the nave.

You will find the church on Rue Felix Brun in the 7th district with wheelchair access available at the entrance. Regular services take place throughout the week, giving visitors opportunities to experience the interior during community gatherings.

Inside the church are three bells, with the largest weighing around 600 kilograms, all of which were electrified in the 1950s. The organ was crafted by a specialized manufacturer known for its work across Europe.
