Montcalm hotel, 19th century mansion and art gallery in Montpellier, France
The Montcalm Hotel exhibits modern art collections across 1500 square meters of exhibition space near Place de la Comédie in central Montpellier.
Built in 1816 as a private residence, the mansion underwent substantial transformations to become part of the Montpellier Contemporain cultural project.
The gallery presents three major exhibitions annually, featuring international collections and works from contemporary artists within its marble-floored halls.
Visitors can explore the art collections, garden installations, and specialized bookshop from 10 AM to 6 PM under Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole management.
The garden, designed by Bertrand Lavier, represents a world map with plant species from different continents surrounding the exhibition space.
