Nadarbazevis Tba, reservoir in Georgia
Nadarbazevis Tba is a man-made reservoir in the Shida Kartli region situated at 856 meters above sea level on the north slope of the Kvernaki ridge. The water body covers approximately 1.18 square kilometers with a maximum depth of just under 2 meters, offering views of green fields and distant snow-capped mountains.
This reservoir was created by damming water on the site of a former natural lake to support water management needs in the region. Such reservoirs were built in Georgia to ensure adequate water supply during dry seasons and support irrigation for nearby areas.
The reservoir serves the local community as a fishing spot and outdoor gathering place, where people come to spend time away from daily routines. The calm waters and open surroundings make it a simple destination for relaxation and connection with nature.
A dirt road provides access to the water and is passable by regular cars, including sedans, though high-clearance vehicles have easier access. Visitors should bring their own food, water, and equipment, as there are no shops or restaurants nearby.
The reservoir was created on the site of a previous natural lake, making it an example of landscape transformation by human design. Despite its shallow depth of less than 2 meters, visitors can often see the lake bottom near the edges, giving the water unusual clarity.
