Ylöjärvi

Ylöjärvi is a town located west of Tampere in the Pirkanmaa region. The area features numerous lakes and water bodies spread throughout the landscape, creating a typical Finnish environment of forests and waterways.

The settlement began as a chapel parish in 1779 and separated from the neighboring municipality of Pirkkala in 1869. It gained the official status of a town in 2004.
