Tenhola Church

Tenhola Church is a stone building in Raseborg featuring medieval Finnish ecclesiastical design with traditional architectural elements from that period. The structure reflects the typical construction style of religious buildings from earlier centuries in the region.

The building was founded in the 14th century and represents the long religious history of the area. It remained part of Tenala municipality until administrative changes redrew local boundaries in 1992.

The interior displays coats of arms from noble families that highlight the building's historical ties to local aristocracy. These wall decorations show how the church served as a gathering place for prominent community members.

The building is accessible from outside, though visitors planning interior access should contact the congregation in advance. Sturdy shoes are helpful since the surrounding paths can be uneven.

The bell tower holds one of Finland's oldest bells, which has called people to worship and community gatherings for centuries. This ancient bell serves as a testament to the building's role in both religious and social life throughout the ages.
