The Nordic Classicism brick church structure features 24 angel paintings on its walls and holds 700 people in its main sanctuary.
Following the 1918 fire that destroyed the previous timber church, architect Elsi Borg designed this new building, which opened in 1929.
The interior displays frescoes by Paavo Leinonen depicting Biblical themes, including 'To us a child is born' and 'It is finished'.
Located at Lohikoskentie 2, the church stands at 116 meters elevation and functions as the main religious center of Jyväskylän parish.
Elsi Borg's commission for this church design in 1927 established her as one of the first female architects to create a religious building.
