Mannerheim statue

The Mannerheim statue depicts a uniformed leader mounted on horseback, holding a staff in his right hand and reins in his left, cast in bronze and measuring approximately 3.6 meters (12 feet) tall. The horse stands on a grey granite base that anchors the bronze work in place.

Sculptor Veikko Leppänen created this bronze work in 1959 to honor Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim. The sculpture commemorates a leader who guided his nation through wars and the pursuit of independence.

The monument sits within a memorial zone where visitors encounter a focal point for understanding Finnish military traditions. Its placement alongside other commemorative stones creates a space where people gather to acknowledge the nation's historical identity.
