Pačetin extends across 18.1 square kilometers of flat terrain at 86 meters above sea level in the easternmost region of Croatia.
The settlement received town status in 1498, when it served as a location for the Vukovar County Assembly before declining during Ottoman rule.
The Church of Saint Nicholas, constructed between 1752 and 1755, contains an iconostasis from 1910 and remains central to local religious practices.
County road Ž4111 connects Pačetin to neighboring villages Bobota and Vera, providing access to major routes D2 and D55.
The first school in Pačetin opened in 1788 with 38 students, leading to the publication of '220 years of schooling in Pačetin' in 2010.
