Lipovača, Vukovar

Lipovača is a rural settlement in the Vukovar-Srijem County in eastern Croatia, near the municipality of Vukovar. The village comprises scattered homesteads and farmland typical of the Pannonian region.

The settlement originated as a pustara, a traditional hamlet form found in the Pannonian plain with deep roots in the region. This settlement pattern has remained largely unchanged over centuries.

The name Lipovača derives from linden trees that once dotted this area and shaped its landscape. A few ancient trees still stand as reminders of this botanical heritage.
