Tribanj extends along 10 kilometers of coastline at the base of Velebit mountain, comprising seven distinct residential areas including Kozjača and Kruščica.
The name Tribanj first appeared in written records in 1205, marking the settlement's position at the border of the Austrian Kingdom of Dalmatia.
The settlement contains both a Serbian Orthodox church from 1865 and a Roman Catholic church from 1181, representing the religious diversity of the area.
A network of roads connects Tribanj to neighboring towns, with the D8 state road serving as the main transportation route through the settlement.
