The Dubrovnik Synagogue features three arches dividing the wooden fenced Bimah, with a women's gallery located on an upper level.
In 1408, the Dubrovnik Senate granted permission for Jewish settlement, leading to the establishment of this religious center in the heart of the city.
The synagogue holds Torah scrolls brought by Spanish exiles and contains a 13th-century Moorish carpet presented to a Jewish doctor by Spanish royalty.
The main floor functions as both a place of worship during High Holy Days and a museum displaying historical artifacts from the Jewish community.
The ceiling displays stucco reliefs painted in sky blue with golden stars, complemented by 19th-century Florentine chandeliers hanging from above.
