The Naval Cemetery spans 22,000 square meters of land featuring rows of memorial stones, monuments, and landscaped grounds dedicated to naval personnel.
The Ministry of Navy established this cemetery in 1862, purchasing 4,000 square meters of land to create a dedicated burial space for military personnel.
The cemetery contains graves of twelve Austro-Hungarian admirals, one Turkish admiral, and three hundred Italian and German soldiers from different military periods.
Visitors can access the cemetery through public transportation, with regular bus services stopping near the entrance on Stoja Street.
The cemetery holds memorials for maritime disaster victims, including crews from battleships Szent Istvan and Viribus Unitis lost during naval operations.
