Erdödy Castle in Jastrebarsko

Erdödy Castle is a fortified Renaissance structure built on elevated ground with water-filled moats and two towers of varying heights. The rectangular layout and water defense systems show how such buildings were protected during that era.

Matija Gereb built the fortress in the late 15th century as a defended residence. The Erdödy family acquired it later and held it as a family seat for generations until the early 20th century brought ownership changes.
