Budaörs is a town in the Budakeszi District, located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) west of Budapest. It has a mixed character combining older residential neighborhoods with newer housing developments, local shops, and green spaces throughout.
Budaörs grew from a smaller settlement into a residential town as the Budapest region expanded during the 20th century. Its present layout was shaped mostly by development projects in recent decades.
Budaörs is easily reached by public transport from Budapest and offers a quieter alternative to the city center. Visitors can best explore the town on foot by wandering through its different neighborhoods and streets.
