Saint Augustinus Church, Baroque Catholic church in Pécs, Hungary
The Saint Augustinus Church stands with a 28-meter tower containing three bells, the largest dating from 1828, near Pécs city center.
Originally constructed in 1712, the building occupies a site where archaeological excavations revealed a 12th-century cemetery and a former Gothic Saint Nicholas Church.
The church celebrates its patron saint day on August 27 with special masses and community gatherings conducted by distinguished religious leaders.
Regular masses occur from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays during academic terms, with extended hours during summer months.
The church features an Angster organ from 1889 that remains operational, adding musical richness to religious ceremonies.
