Downtown Lutheran Church, Lutheran church in downtown Miskolc, Hungary.
The Lutheran church features a prominent 60-meter tower that stands in the Luther Courtyard, between Nagy-Hunyad and Kis-Hunyad streets.
Founded in the late 17th century by Cipszer and Slovak families, the current church building was completed in 1820 after the previous structure burned down in 1817.
The altar displays a painting by artist Bertalan Székely, while the courtyard includes a statue of Gustav Csengey, a Lutheran theologian and poet.
The church, located at 8 Hunyadi János Street in Miskolc, requires advance registration for visits and can be contacted at +36-46-505-726.
The church compound included a school where notable Hungarian figures Bertalan Szemere and Otto Herman received their education.
