Boronka-melléki Tájvédelmi Körzet

The Boronka-melléki Protected Landscape spans 8,232 hectares, featuring a chain of fishponds surrounded by forests, wetlands, and sandy meadows across the region.

The Hunyadi family established economic narrow-gauge railways and fishponds after World War I, implementing systematic forest management throughout the protected area.

The park functions as part of the Duna-Dráva National Park Directorate, preserving natural ecosystems through dedicated conservation efforts and educational programs.

Visitors can explore the park through marked hiking trails, including the Transdanubian Blue Trail that extends 540 kilometers through different elevation zones.

The park contains 50 protected plant species and houses 12 amphibian species, including the brown toad and marsh frog in its diverse ecosystem.
