Church of Saint Anne, Baroque Catholic church in Víziváros district, Budapest, Hungary
The Church of Saint Anne features an elongated octagonal nave topped by an oval cupola and a two-tower facade near Batthyány Square.
Construction of the church began in 1740 under architect Cristoph Hamon, continuing until 1762 when Mathäus Nepauer completed the structure on Ottoman-era foundations.
The main altar, created by Károly Bebó, displays religious figures including Saint Anne, Joachim, Mary, Elizabeth, and King David against ornate Baroque details.
Located at Batthyány tér 7, the church maintains regular Catholic services and welcomes visitors to explore its architectural elements during non-service hours.
The entrance gate presents three allegorical statues representing Faith, Hope, and Love, reconstructed after the original sculptures suffered damage in World War II.
