Lissivigeen Stone Circle, Ancient stone circle near Killarney, Ireland
The stone circle contains seven standing stones arranged in a circular formation, measuring 4 meters in diameter with stones reaching 1 meter in height.
The stone circle dates back to the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age periods, constructed around 3000 BC as a ceremonial gathering place.
Local folklore connects the seven stones to the daughters of Ernmas, including the goddesses Banba, Fodla, Ériu, Badb, Macha, Anann, and Anu.
The site remains unmarked and lacks signage, requiring visitors to navigate carefully through local roads to reach this archaeological monument near Cronin's Wood.
Two monolithic stones standing over 3 meters tall mark the entrance to the circle, with one stone displaying ancient rock art spirals and cup-marks.
