Ardfert Abbey Friary, Medieval Franciscan friary in County Kerry, Ireland
The friary contains a residential tower with five floors, featuring window seats and garderobes at its western section of the church building.
Thomas Fitzmaurice, the first Baron Kerry, established the Franciscan friary in 1253, selecting the location of an earlier monastic site by Brendan the Navigator.
The church structure displays nine lancet windows on the south wall, designed to mirror the architectural style of nearby Ardfert Cathedral.
The monument maintains its original thirteenth-century eastern window, divided into five sections that illuminate the former choir area of the church.
During the year 1310, local friars endured physical attacks due to conflicts with Bishop Nicol Ó Samradáin of Ardfert and Aghadoe.
