Binn idir an dá Log, Mountain summit in County Galway, Ireland
Binn idir an dá Log is a mountain in the Maumturk range that rises to 702 meters and presents a distinctive narrow, rocky summit ridge. The ridgeline is scattered with white quartzite stones and loose gravel, creating a rugged terrain that extends along the peak.
The mountain formed through glacial action that carved two deep corries at either end of the summit ridge. The name directly refers to these two glacial valleys, which left their mark on the landscape thousands of years ago.
Since 1975, University College Galway Mountaineering Club organizes an annual challenge walk across the Maumturks range, incorporating checkpoints at this summit.
Multiple routes lead to the summit, with one popular path taking about 6 kilometers through Maumahoge pass. An alternative approach starts from Maumeen col, allowing climbers to choose based on their experience and preferences.
The summit stands as the highest point in the Maumturk Mountains, with a prominence of 629 meters, qualifying it as both a P600 and a Marilyn.
