Ringsend Bridge, Stone bridge in Dublin, Ireland

Ringsend Bridge spans the River Dodder with a single elliptical arch design supported by sturdy spandrel walls extending from the central structure.

The current bridge, constructed between 1803 and 1812, replaced four previous structures that were destroyed by floods, including one catastrophic event in 1802.

The bridge received its initial name, Charlotte Bridge, in honor of Princess Charlotte, daughter of the Prince Regent during the early nineteenth century.

The structure functions as part of the R802 regional road, connecting local communities while providing essential transportation routes for vehicles and pedestrians.

The bridge incorporates architectural elements with voussoirs extending into spandrel walls, demonstrating early nineteenth-century engineering techniques.
