Windmill Lane Studios, Recording studio in Ringsend Road, Dublin, Ireland
Windmill Lane Studios is a recording studio on Ringsend Road in Dublin, Ireland. The facility spans three floors and provides specialized spaces for audio recording, mixing, and post-production work.
The studio opened in 1978 at its first location on Windmill Lane. The move to Ringsend Road happened in 1990 to provide more space and expanded technical capabilities.
The facility recorded numerous international artists including U2, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, and The Cranberries throughout its active years.
Studio One offers the largest recording room in Ireland outside national television facilities and accommodates up to 80 orchestra musicians. Access is arranged through prior booking or organized tours, as this is an active production site.
The walls of the former building on Windmill Lane became covered with graffiti artworks by international music fans. This spontaneous tribute to the artists recorded there transformed the plain brick wall into a colorful musical memorial.
