Point Theatre, Former concert venue in North Wall Quay, Dublin, Ireland
Point Theatre was a large indoor performance space with around 8,500 seats located along the River Liffey in Dublin's Docklands district. The venue could accommodate various types of music performances and major events.
The structure originally dated from 1878 as a railway goods shed and was transformed into an entertainment venue in 1988 by developer Harry Crosbie and Apollo Leisure. This conversion allowed the former industrial building to draw artists and audiences for decades to come.
The venue served as a major gathering place for music fans and attracted performers from around the world. Events held here shaped Dublin's entertainment culture and made the location a meeting point for concertgoers.
The location is easily reached on foot from Dublin's northern city center and sits near other Docklands attractions. Today the site operates under a new name with modernized facilities, so checking current visitor information beforehand is advisable.
The hall hosted the Eurovision Song Contest three times and gained international attention when Riverdance made its world premiere there in 1994. This performance proved to be a turning point in Irish entertainment history.
