Point Theatre, Former concert venue in North Wall Quay, Dublin, Ireland
The Point Theatre operated as a large indoor performance space with a capacity of 8,500 seats along the River Liffey in Dublin's Docklands area.
Built in 1878 as a train depot, the structure transformed into an entertainment venue in 1988 through renovations by developer Harry Crosbie and Apollo Leisure.
The venue gained international recognition by hosting the Eurovision Song Contest three times, including the 1994 event where Riverdance made its first appearance.
The building remained active until 2007, when it closed for redevelopment and reopened as The O2, later becoming the current 3Arena entertainment complex.
U2 performed multiple nights at the venue during their Lovetown Tour in December 1989, with a live broadcast featuring an important speech about their future direction.
