Technological University Dublin, Technological university in County Dublin, Ireland
Technological University Dublin operates from five locations across the city and serves approximately 27,000 students representing around 140 nationalities. The institution focuses on practical, career-oriented education with programs spanning engineering, technology, business, and applied sciences.
The institution was established in January 2019 through the merger of three earlier colleges: the Dublin Institute of Technology, the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, and the Institute of Technology Tallaght. This combination created one of Ireland's largest higher education providers with deep roots in technical and vocational training.
Students from around the world gather in more than 100 clubs and societies that range from professional to recreational interests. These groups shape the campus experience and bring together people from different backgrounds to learn and socialize together.
The five campuses are spread across different parts of Dublin and are accessible by public transport, each with its own facilities and support services. Plan ahead to identify which campus matches your interests, as the locations host different programs and specializations.
It is the only educational institution in Ireland offering specialized programs in optometry and ophthalmic dispensing. These programs draw students from other countries who cannot find similar training closer to home.
