Ramat Gan Stadium, football stadium in the Tel Aviv District, Israel
Ramat Gan Stadium is a football venue located in a suburb just outside Tel Aviv. The facility features a grass field measuring 105 by 68 meters, multiple dressing rooms, press areas, conference halls, and a lighting system producing up to 1,550 lux to support evening matches.
The stadium opened in 1950 as Israel's national arena. It hosted major tournaments including the AFC Asian Cup in 1964 and served as the home of the national team for many decades before newer facilities were built elsewhere.
The stadium's name comes from the suburb where it stands. Over the decades, it has served as a gathering place for major sporting events and concerts, where artists like Elton John and Metallica performed, showing its role in the cultural life of the region beyond just football.
The stadium is accessible by train via the Ben-Gurion Yarkon Railway Line, stopping directly at the adjacent Bnei Brak station. A large car park with nearly 4,000 spaces serves visitors, and a roofed cafe-restaurant is located on the grounds.
Beyond sports, the stadium hosted world-famous artists like Madonna, who performed her MDNA Tour there in 2012. This transformation shows how the venue expanded its purpose over the decades to support various forms of large-scale entertainment.
