W Tower, Residential high-rise in Tel Aviv, Israel
W Tower is a residential high-rise in Tel Aviv, standing 156 m tall with 46 floors. The building has cantilevered balconies that run along the north and south sides in continuous horizontal bands.
The tower was built between 2006 and 2010, during a period when Tel Aviv was moving toward taller construction. That shift changed how the city's outline looked from a distance.
The shape of the facade recalls the letter W, which is how the tower got its name and how most people recognize it from a distance. From the streets below, the repeated pattern of the balconies reads like a continuous graphic against the sky.
The tower is best seen from the surrounding streets, where its shape comes through clearly from different angles. Moving a few blocks away gives a better sense of the whole building against the skyline.
The cantilevered balconies are angled so that low winter sun reaches deep into the apartments, while the higher summer sun is blocked before it enters. This approach uses the natural path of the sun across seasons to manage indoor heat without mechanical systems.
