Gan HaYir Tower, Urban compound in central Tel Aviv, Israel.
Gan HaYir Tower is a mixed-use high-rise in central Tel Aviv, combining offices, residential floors, and shops under one roof. The building has a glass and metal exterior and the retail spaces sit at street level, making the ground floor the most active part of the complex.
The tower was built in the late 1990s as Tel Aviv was going through a major push to modernize its downtown with new high-rises. This wave of construction replaced many older low-rise buildings that had shaped the city center for decades.
The tower sits in a part of Tel Aviv where office workers, shoppers, and residents cross paths throughout the day. The lower floors feel more like a city street than a building lobby, with people moving in and out at most hours.
The tower is in central Tel Aviv and easy to reach on foot or by public transport from most parts of the city. Inside, lifts connect all floors, and the shops at street level are directly accessible without going through the main building entrance.
The name Gan HaYir means "city garden" in Hebrew, a reference to a small green space that once stood on or near this site. Almost nothing of that earlier landscape remains today, but the name has stayed.
